What Ruijin is known for

Ruijin is a general hospital with particular strength in blood diseases, metabolic diseases and cancer. It is home to the National Facility for Translational Medicine (Shanghai) [2] and, since 2026, the China-SCO Cooperation Center for Metabolic Diseases. [5] Its international department reports that patients from abroad increasingly come for specialist treatment rather than only check-ups. [4]

Two ways to be seen at Ruijin

Regular outpatient care. Every department and specialist, at public hospital prices. Appointments are made with your passport and open only days ahead. Everything is in Chinese.

International Medical Department. Care designed for international patients, with English-speaking staff. [4] It costs more than regular care.

How we help at Ruijin

  • We check which department suits your condition and book your appointment with your passport.
  • We prepare a one-page summary of your case in Chinese for your doctor.
  • Your medical escort stays with you: registration, consultations, tests, payment and, if needed, your hospital stay.
  • You leave with a summary in English or French and all your records.

We are not part of Ruijin Hospital and take no commissions from it or any hospital. Whether the hospital accepts your case, and how you are treated, is decided by its doctors.
