How we write and review our content
People use this website to make decisions about their health and their money. This page explains how we try to make sure what we publish is accurate, and what to do if it isn't.
What our content is — and is not
Our pages explain how medical care in China works for international patients: hospitals, departments, booking, payment, travel and what to expect. They are general information. They are not medical advice, and they cannot replace a consultation with a doctor who knows your case.
We do not publish claims about cure rates or treatment results, we do not rank hospitals as "best", and we do not promote unapproved or experimental treatments.
Who writes and reviews it
Our pages are written by our team. Every page about a medical condition or treatment is reviewed before publication by our founder, who has a medical background and checks that it is accurate, clear and does not overstate what treatment can do.
Sources we use
We base our content on:
- official sources in China, such as the National Health Commission, the National Immigration Administration and hospital websites;
- public lists such as the national key clinical specialties;
- official guidance from governments and embassies for travel and entry rules;
- peer-reviewed research and clinical guidelines for medical topics.
Pages on medical topics list their main sources at the bottom.
Keeping it up to date
- Every page about a medical condition shows the date it was last reviewed.
- We review medical pages regularly, and sooner when guidelines or hospital practice change.
- Pages about visas, payment and prices change faster, so we check them more often.
Translations
Our pages are available in English, French, Russian and Spanish. Translations are checked by native speakers before publication, and medical pages are checked again for accuracy.
Independence
We take no commissions or referral fees from hospitals, and no hospital pays for or approves what we write about it. Hospital names appear on this site for information only; they do not mean the hospital endorses or works with us.
